Transcend, the leading storage product manufacturer, today launched their high performance SSD – Transcend SSD220S – in India. Labelled “the best-entry level SSD with uncompromising performance”, this device is made for system builders looking for quicker boot times and application start-up. The company promises uncompromising performance by leveraging multiple layers of technology to give faster transfer speeds, better durability, low power consumption, all at an attractive price. It will be available in 3 capacities – 120 GB, 240 GB and 480 GB.

It features a DDR3 DRAM cache which gives great 4K random read and write speeds of 330MB/s. A more responsive system that reacts quickly ensures that there is no need to wait to perform the next action. Transcend promises peak speeds of 550MB/s read and 450MB/s write, achieved via advanced firmware algorithms, high-quality flash chips and SLC caching technology.

Durability and Protection

The Transcend SSD220S guarantees long operating life with ability to optimise itself for long-term usage, via built-in technologies to improve the drive as wear sets in. It has a RAID engine and low-density parity check coding to keep data secure. It features Error Correction Code (ECC) to detect and correct potential transfer errors.
